I’m Dan Devine (he/him) and I have a habit of organizing games so folks can tell memorable stories. I love telling stories folks will remember for years to come and laughing about it with their friends. Nothing brings me more joy than when someone tells a story about something from one of my games with a smile on their face.

I’m also the creator and organizer for the Memories of Graewynn LARP located out of eastern Ohio/western Pennsylvania. I’ve been coordinating with various LARPS in the North Eastern United States for about 10 years.

What kind of Game Master are you?

With 20 years of game running experience, I’ve found games run best when the story comes first to create memorable moments between players and the game setting. Whether folks want to explore strange locales, try their hand unweaving a web of political intrigue, or hack and slash their way to victory, fun can be had by all.
I prefer to be flexible so players have the agency to direct the story and can feel like their choices matter while exploring and experiencing the game. Mechanics are great as a guideline, but let’s focus on the story.

What kind of games do you like to run?

Gritty, more realism, high fantasy, quirky, casual, etc. I find I enjoy running games with a casual feeling and some levity, but can have times when things turn gritty or grim. I’ve run games in fantasy, sci-fi, and semi-historical settings. Generally, once I know what the table is looking for I can accommodate towards the game type.

What RPG Games/Systems are you familiar with running?

D&D 3.5e, D&D 5e, Werewolf the Apocalypse, Mage the Ascension, Vampire the Masquerade, Hunter the Reckoning, Demon the Fallen, Exalted 2nd ed, Wraith and Glory, Deathwatch (and the other Fantasy Flight 40K games), Paranoia d20, CthulhuTech, Through the Breach (the Malifaux TTRPG), the most recent Fallout TTRPG.
