Howdy y’all, I’m Rt or Arty. I’ve been a storyteller in Los Angeles for over 25 years and helped many others start their own adventurers. I initially started at the WotC store in Santa Monica and The Game Keeper in the West Side Pavillon, if you had the pleasure of going to those shops back then, you probably got your player’s handbook or dice from me. Since then, you could’ve found me bouncing around some of the conventions and great shops around LA, especially the former home of the Rogue class, showing new players they have more potential than they ever knew!

What kind of Game Master are you:

As a balanced forever DM, I pull from the years of running children’s games, I try to engage the party in clever and creative ways to keep them on the edge of their seats. Half way between moments of triumph and fearing for their character’s lives, I enjoy switching modes of storytelling, combat and exploration, sometimes mixing them together in the same scene.  Depending on the party, I’ll bring the theatrics, the voices or even an abacus for those oh so crunchy numbers. There is something in my dm toolbox for everyone, even if it’s just a pun.

What kind of games do you like to run?

Since d&d is my primary rpg system, epic high fantasy is what I’m most comfortable with.  I do enjoy running a good detective noir style story , in either fantasy or modern, they are my favorites along with a good old fashion gothic horror tale.

What RPG Games/Systems are you familiar with running?

Dungeons & Dragons from 2nd ed up to 5th ed. World of Darkness 2nd ed (Vampire, Wraith, Mage), Call of Cthulhu 4th up to 7th ed, Legend of the FIve RIngs, Shadowrun, D20 (Spycraft and Farscape), Big Eyes Small Mouth (Sailor Moon, Tank Police and Tenchi Muyo) , Palladium (Robotech and TMNT), Gurps, and Shadows of Esteren.

Do you have any projects, products or things you would like to share?

Currently I’m running adventures for children and teenagers on the weekends. You can find me on organizing and running d&d on Tuesdays at Paper Heroes on Santa Monica Blvd.
